The same hands can also be found in Angelus alarm and table clocks from the era. Some time ago, Richemont bought the old Panerai premises where the workshop was located (Villino Panerai) and the other day they found a bunch of Angelus 240 parts, a NOS Ang

It’s stunning

I see inspiration of the dial from the SLC. It is very beautiful and mesmerising to look at. Of the clocks created by leading watch brands, I like this most, and also perhaps the Ulysse Nardin clock or the JLC Marc Newson Atmos clock in blue.

In my search for desk clocks, I became aware of PAM581/PAM651 (latter has California dial) 65mm spheres...

www.watchprosite.com Has anyone purchased one since 2014? What are you thoughts in the flesh? Still listed on Panerai website for USD$3k, but I don't know if they still are actually available from them. Thanks in advance. M. Credit to Anthony for

The thing I love most about the 721 is its stark, spare simplicity

... which makes it less like any watch I've seen -- though the point made about homages is a good one! As an old guy, I used to see people wearing fake Panerais in the '90s and some of them were blank like the 721. I wasn't a watch guy back then and wonde

Someone on Perezcope's IG replied with the name "Chomutov"

It's was a Czechoslovakian company that made clocks in the Art Deco period and which later became a part of Kienzle. Here's one of those Chomutov clocks from the 1930s. Note the hands also match the PAM 790/791 shape! Link to more images: www.decaso&#

I'd say one or two of each is the best course

My friends Gary and Jim have between them owned about 12 wooden boats. They have electronic navigation and they have charts; they have quartz clocks and mechanical with bells. Quartz below left replaced for epic 1500-mile cruise so we had bells in the nig

PAM585

Love the nautical set of instruments Panerai made. PAM 582, 583, 584 and this one. Wish I had the funds to install them in my little boat... But what I do not understand at all: why in gods name is the PAM585 a Quartz?!? Every sailor knows that all true s
